Razz & Biggy Assaulted Because of Kartel Connection

Well-known dancehall selection duo Razz & Biggy were assaulted after being being accused of running too many Movado tunes. The attack occurred at Prendy's on Sunday evening.

The Jamaica Star reports that three men approached Biggy, threw water on him, then warning him "Addi a di daddy and yuh cyan deh play so much Mavado" and that because of his (Biggy's) actions, "gunshot a go buss".

"Look at what is happening, where people send threats because of what I play. It's like the artistes take selectors for puppets," Biggy said.

When asked about the incident Vybz Kartel responded;

"There will be no tolerance for overzealous fans who physically harm any artiste or selector or rival fan to prove loyalty to their respective artiste, etc. Kartel and Mavado have no rivalry beyond the music and nothing physical within music. Love goes out to all musicians and players of instruments who seek to uphold clean and peaceful music for this year and beyond. Portmore Empire for life," Kartel said.

Movado's And Idonia's Entourage Brawl Pon Stage

Last Tuesday saw the The Queen's School's Sports Day. Booked for the event were Leftside & Esco, Wayne Marshall, Movado & Idonia. Things went well until the selecta of the party, Foota Hype, ran the Drumline riddim... after that things seem to have gotten wild. YardFlex quotes a former student of the School who witnessed the incident;

"I saw Mavado grabbed a mike and proceeded onstage bellowing 'New name fi informer a Mr. Palmer', after which a huge bundle of both Idonia's entourage and Mavado's entourage starting throwing blows at each other. Due to the blows onstage the selector had to stop playing and throughout the fight it was Selector Foota Hype, who came with Mavado, threw derogatory words at Idonia's entourage."

Sly Dunbar Assists On New UB40 Album

Sly Dunbar, one half of legendary reggae production duo Sly & Robbie, is recording material for "what appears to be a solo album" for Aly Campbell, the groups lead singer.

"Ally is doing some work with me, just a couple of tracks really on what appears to be a solo album. So I am just working on project laying tracks with that classic reggae sound. We're doing 10 tracks, just doing drum and bass, and he's taking it back to England with him to complete. Ally is great, I've worked with him before, on live shows, and other projects and he is on our Grammy album as well, so it is going well," Sly told One876Entertainment.com.

Lack of Updates

No updates for a while now. In upgrading the line to an 8Mb/s line Orange have managed to completely balls up the connection and have left me without access to the internet.

Updates will resume once they have fixed it, apparently "very shortly" (8 days and counting...)

Skatta: Aidnoia "the biggest baby"

One876Entertainment quotes former Aidonia associate 'Skatta' Burrell commenting on Aidonia's recent removal from Bounty Killer's Alliance group.

“I am not surprised, I knew from day one that he did not belong there, you can respect a man’s camp without joining that camp, him neva belong there and there was nothing on God’s green earth that would keep him there.

Now he is like a wandering sheep, he is not learning and that is because of his attitude that ‘mi no tek no talk from no man’. Why him go inna Busy organisation?

He claimed that the Alliance thing was working, so if it was working, why is he leaving?” Skatta tells One876Entertainment.

Referring to Aidonia's attempts to portray himself in a badman way, Skatta had this to say:

“Aidonia have the badman image but him is not a real ghetto yute, him play football fi him church, him used to go Meadowbrook High school, him no face no hardship, him have the bad man image but him a the biggest baby, him no know nothing ‘bout badness or garrison living.”

Aidonia Cut From Alliance

It is official, deejay Aidonia has been booted from the Bounty Killer-led Alliance.

Although Aidonia was unavailable for a comment because he was in studio, his Road Manager, Kurt says the artiste wants to make it clear that he did not switch from the Alliance, but was kicked out.

"Well wi get a call still, the morning after Spectrum, saying Aidonia is disrespecting too much members of the Alliance and a meeting was held and they said they would rather that he leaves," Kurt said.

Kurt says, "the main problem stems from just one song, December's Deadline about stuff that happened to Aidonia during that time. An a really one line weh say, Mi neva call him name, but Busy dead a Sting, di people dem seh boo, instead a fling, a dah one line deh a di problem."

Buju Banton Live At Guiness Sting 2006

Here's Buju Banton's performance at Sting 2k6. Its a classic Sting set, one that will go down as one of the best. Video and audio is ripped "as is" from the bootleg DVD I have, though I've used the XVid codec and a multipass encode (2-pass) to get it the best I can (for the file size).
